Carla Trotter, RN, BSN, PHN is the school nurse
for the high school and for the junior high. She also teaches
two periods of health occupations. She has a School Heath
Credential and a Designated Subjects Credential. She has worked
for the District for 20 years and before that she worked for 12
years at Healdsburg District Hospital. Her responsibilities
include monitoring the overall health of the students, making
sure immunizations are up to date, taking care of special health
needs as well as chairing the Student Assistance Team and the
Student Attendance and Review Board. Teaching in the health
career path has been particularly enjoyable in that it allows
students to learn about the varied health careers but also gives
them the opportunity to job shadow at the hospital. This gives
most a good real world perspective on careers and it helps them
decide on their own path.
Carla has two grown children who both graduated from Healdsburg
High School and are now married. She also has two grandchildren.
She enjoys traveling and spending time with special friends.
